From Izola, we climb through the beautiful village of Ga\u017eon to \u0160marje, to visit the unique wine cellar on the Santomas estate. After a snack and a tasting of a noble drop, we head towards the highest point of the trip, Pomjan – 361m, where the best view of Koper awaits us. After a short tour of the picturesque village of Pomjan, the highest village of the \u0160avrinski hills, we adventure along the forest single track to the hidden Supot waterfall and then climb to, according to the guide, the most beautiful Istrian village of Ko\u0161tabona, which lies on a flysch ridge above the Dragonja river. According to archaeological findings, there was already a prehistoric building site here. In Roman times, there was a fortress called Castrum Bonae, which protected the trade routes. The name Ko\u0161tabona was first mentioned in 1186. In the settlement there is a church of St. Cozme and Damjana, built of stone blocks. Ko\u0161tabona is an example of preserved Istrian architecture. Between wild nature, Istrian cliffs and the smell of Istria, we continue our cycling trip to the medieval village of Krkav\u010de. The village is built on three living rocks and has been mentioned since 1450. With beautiful views of the Dragonja valley and even the Se\u010dovel salt pans, we drive along the old paths through the village at the end of \u0160avrinski hills, Nova Vas and then to the picturesque village of Padna. A small village on a hill with a church of St. Bla\u017ea and with the bell tower from 1885, where the main feast awaits us in the Truffle House. After this wonderful experience, we descend with full bellies into the Padna valley and slowly rise above Izola among the vineyards, where we are captivated by the last view of the sea, followed by a short descent to Izola.<\/p>\n

The tour is for experienced mountain bikers who practice this sport several times a year, it is most recommended that we have met before on our Oljka tour (a full-day tour in the Izola backcountry, so you know what to expect). In the case of physical unpreparedness, the guide can always shorten the tour and use the asphalt road, as a result the tour is less natural, but we still have fun.<\/p>\n
